All cats and kittens are registered with both CFA and TICA. We are also members of TIBCS and New Vision Cat Club. Your kitten will come to you with registration forms for both associations and will be eligible to show with either association. Our cattery also meets USDA/APHIS regulations for breeding facilities. Our cattery is a closed cattery. We do not send cats out or allow cats in for stud service. We also do not recommend studding cats out due to the increased risks of spreading infectious diseases.
There are a lot of ”backyard“ breeders and kitten scammers out there. We abide by a strict code of ethics and we will never ask you to pay via obscure payment apps or other questionable means. We believe in quality over quantity and only produce 2-3 litters per year.
We care about our clients and making sure your new family member makes a smooth adjustment into their new home.
You may contact us at anytime with questions or concerns.
All kittens are raised in my home under foot with daily attention. All studs and queens are screened regularly for HCM by a board certified veterinary cardiologist, tested for PRA-b and PK Deficiency (copies of reports are available) and are FeLV and FIV negative.
Kittens are kept with their mom and litter mates until they are 12 weeks old. Each kitten comes with a health guarantee, all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip and a care package that includes a dose of Revolution. As of January 2021, any kitten that is leaving spayed or neutered will be required to remain with us until 16 weeks.
Our cats are also regularly dewormed and have been PCR tested negative for tritrichomonas and other GI infections.
Is a Bengal right for you?
Bengals are high energy, fun loving cats. They are awesome companions and will instantly steal your heart. Our cats are well socialized with children and dogs, so they fit well in any family dynamic.
All animals require a great deal of care and attention. Bengals are no exception. They require daily interaction in order to avoid behavior issues. Cat trees, cat wheels and toys are wonderful ways to keep your Bengal entertained, but they are not a substitute for your attention. Make sure you’re ready and able to invest time and money into your new family member. Yes, Bengal kittens can be an expensive purchase, but that’s only the beginning. There’s vet visits, food, toys, litter and a million odds and ends that go along with daily care. All this needs to be taken into consideration when deciding to bring a pet into your home.
SouthernPines does not condone declawing. Scratching is a natural behavior for all cats and with proper training, your cat can live peacefully in your home without destroying your furniture and rugs. Declawing is an extremely painful procedure and often leads to chronic pain, litter box issues and other behavioral problems. We offer continued support for all of our clients for the lifetime of your Bengal. We are happy to provide recommendations for veterinary care, training and general care.
Our cattery is now located in sunny Mulberry, Florida and will be expanding soon. In 2021 we will be adding charcoal, silver and snows to our program. As always, our main focus will remain on quality not quantity. The health and well-being of our cats and kittens comes first.
