Southern Pines is a small in home cattery that started just outside the small town of Barnesville, GA. In April 2020, we made the move to sunny Mulberry, FL located on the outskirts of Lakeland. I am a licensed, practicing veterinarian and am passionate about Bengals. In addition to the cats, I also have 2 dogs (Ruger the Rat terrorist and Degon the Min Pin). I really enjoy sharing my love of Bengals with other families and take every opportunity to introduce folks to these amazing cats.
A few years ago, I made the decision to purchase my first Bengal kitten. I researched the breed and began to surf the web for the perfect kitten. Like you, I found a wide range of prices, colors and patterns. Looking at so many websites it was difficult to decide. I searched both TICA and CFA for a registered cattery in my area. After months of checking out catteries, I found a reputable breeder and I purchased a beautiful brown rosetted female and named her Seska. I ended up purchasing another female not long after that and it all snowballed from there. I was hooked and suddenly I’d turned into a true “Cat Lady”. I began to attend cat shows and spent a lot of time studying the breed standards and learning as much as possible about these beautiful cats.
With guidance from my mentor, I became registered with both TICA and CFA, purchased my first breeder cats and started my cattery.
Being an ethical Bengal breeder requires uncompromising commitment. You can be sure that when you purchase a Southern Pines Bengal every effort has been made to ensure your kitten is healthy and ready to join your family.
Expansion of our cattery is the next step in our Bengal journey. In 2022 we will be building on additional cattery space and bringing in a few more cats. We have a few retired cats that will be placed in loving homes as well. We look forward to introducing lots of families to the joys of having a Bengal.
